police have arrested a man from
Kasaragod, in connection with a case registered under Section 120B IPC. According to police sources here, it is suspected that he has been charged with an alleged plot to “kill a high profile personality”. However, the police here refused to divulge any details.
According to
Kasaragod district police chief A Srinivas, the man, identified as Tasleem (41), was held by Delhi police, with the help of the local police, after a case under Section 120B IPC, for criminal conspiracy, was registered against him in Delhi.
Immediately after the arrest, he was taken to Delhi after presenting him in the local court to get a transit warrant issued.
According to the police here, the details of the charges were not revealed to them and a special team directly controlled by the district police chief helped the police team from Delhi. The only information they got was that the case was registered in Delhi two days back and Delhi police reached here immediately.
The case was registered under 120B IPC means the accused was party to a criminal conspiracy to commit an offence punishable with death or life imprisonment, and if found guilty, this could invite rigorous imprisonment for a term of two years or upwards, which underscores the gravity of the charge, they said.
According to Bekal police, his full name is Muhthasimu C M alias Tasleem, a resident of Chembarika under that police limits. He was accused of two passport forgery cases and also two murder attempt cases a few years ago.
