TDP sets new record, enrolls 65 lakh members in Andhra Pradesh

AMARAVATI: Setting a new record, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has enrolled over 65 lakh people as party members in the state. In the process, it surpassed the previous record of 64.42 lakh membership. Interestingly, the party has achieved the maximum score of membership in a span of just two months.
While congratulating the party wings in all the 13 districts, party national general secretary and IT minister Nara Lokesh said that the record membership had once again proved that TDP was the party of masses.

He said that the stunning membership was enlisted only due to the sincere and dedicated services extended to the people by the party and the government.
“TDP is the only party that is working for the uplift and welfare of the party workers right from the grass-root level,” claimed Lokesh on Sunday.
Lokesh further added that the party membership had crossed 65.29 lakh on Sunday. This was nearly one lakh more than the membership enrolled for the 2016-18.
He explained that Guntur, Krishna, West Godavari, Chittoor and East Godavari districts secured first five spots in the membership enrollment while Palkole,Kuppam, Udayagiri, Atmakur and Mailavaram constituencies were on top in the assembly segments' list.

He said that they had extended financial assistance to tune of Rs14 crore to about 4178 activists through TDP’s welfare fund, about Rs60 crore was disbursed to the kin of the party activists who died in different mishaps. Another Rs.52 lakh was distributed to as many as 89 activists injured in the accidents. "Party had also extended financial assistance to the tune of Rs2.28 crore to about 815 students," said Lokesh.
The party senior legislator Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao of Gurazala constituency said that it was the image of dynamic leadership of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and people friendly leader Lokesh that helped them to enroll the support of the commoners with the party. He said that thousands of people had voluntarily joined the party after seeing the welfare programmes implemented by the government. "Close monitoring and guidance of Lokesh had helped us to put the field-level party organization on right track and achieve the record membership," said Yarapathineni.
