A busy London shopping centre has been evacuated as emergency services have scrambled to the scene.

London Fire Brigade confirmed that there is an ongoing incident at The Glades Shopping Centre in Bromley.

A fire crew and police are in attendance after being called at 5.39pm.

The shopping centre confirmed in a tweet that it has been temporarily evacuated due to a vehicle fire in the car park.

The Glades Shopping Centre said: "We can confirm that due to a fire in our carpark the centre has been evacuated as a precaution.

"The fire brigade are in attendance."

It is believed to have taken place at the multi storey car park next to the Civic Centre on Stockwell Close.

A London Fire Brigade spokeswoman added: "A team was called to The Glades Shopping Centre in Bromley at 5.39pm.

"There is an ongoing incident and a fire crew is still in attendance."
