MADHUBANI: Police succeeded in nabbing a shooter hired by a man to eliminate his son and while doing so, police also averted another murder by the same contract killer.
Madhubani SP Dipak Barnwal while addressing a press conference on Tuesday said, “The incident took place on December 10 last in Jadaha village under Kaluahi police station of the district, in which one Baban Yadav was shot at.
The crime was scripted by Baban’s father Yogeshwar Yadav and his maternal uncle Laxman Yadav, by hiring a contract killer from Nepal--Idrish Nat--with the help of one Raman Yadav of Jhonjhi village. Baban, however, had survived the attack due to prompt medical treatment.”
The investigating team headed by sadar SDPO Kamini Bala arrested noted criminals Idris Nat, Akbar Nat, Raman Yadav, Abhisek Jha, Shyam Sundar Thakur and Ram Charan Sahni--all members of interdistrict gang from Koriani village under Basopatti police station last Monday.
These criminals, in fact, were also hired by one Shyam Sundar Thakur of Belauna village under Basopatti police station to kill his fellow villager and PACS chairman Chandan Thakur. “With the help of Raman Yadav, Shyam Sundar had reportedly hired the criminals in lieu of Rs 2lakh,” the SP said adding that Idrish admitted firing at Baban for a ransom of Rs 1 lakh. Baban’s father and maternal uncle too have been arrested by the police.
