An outraged mum has hit out at her daughter's school after she was served a cold tuna wrap after the hot dinners ran out.

Abby Wallace vented her rage on Facebook to complain after discovering her eight-year-old was not able to get the chicken curry she wanted at school.

The 26-year-old of Hull claims that this has happened several times now and she is "f****** livid".

Ms Wallace posted the rant online, which with the heading 'Biggin School are a joke'.

The mum-of-two, went on to say that the school continue to under-cater for children and says it has left her very unhappy.

Ms Wallace, a part-time customer services advisor complained to Biggin Hill Primary School last term.

However she claims that nothing has been done to improve the situation.

She told Hull Live: "You expect your child to get fed at school.

"The problem is they rotate the classes, so one week one will go in first, and then they will change them, so if you are the last class to go in, you don't get a choice, you get whatever is left.

"It's OK for my younger daughter in Year One because she gets the choice of going in first. School said they would sort the situation but no action has been taken.

"There must be something they can figure out that would mean she doesn't have to go without."

School dinners in Hull currently cost £1 after doubling in price on January 7 from 50p.  Ms Wallace does not pay for her daughter's school lunch due to her low income.

Ms Wallace said she spoke to a member of staff who was stood at the school door before Christmas, but will go back into the school to make an official complaint after it happened again on Wednesday.

She said: "I always ask my daughter, 'what have you had today to eat' and my daughter said 'I really wanted the chicken curry but it ran out.'

"The thing is, they see it in front of them, but then they run out and it's taken away and there was only the tuna wrap left, they may not even like it."

And it seems many parents share her frustrations. The post has received lots of comments from other disgruntled parents who say the same thing also happens to their children.

One mum said: "I had this. He'd have a slice of meat with gravy with a salad plate if their class was last its disgusting, doubly if ur having to pay lunches too."

Another said: "I don't begrudge anyone anything but we pay for her school dinners and want what we're paying for!! She had a sh*t dinner the other week of bread veg and chips!! How is that a balanced meal!"

Another said: "Ohhh its been like that for ages & then they say about your kids eating properly...bloody cheek."

A spokesperson for the school said that the school is unaware of this particular case, as the parent has not approached them.

They said: "The school would always welcome and encourage anyone with a concern to come and speak to them directly first.

"There is always a range of both hot and cold options provided each day and if an option runs out there is an alternative hot and cold choice."
