BIHARSHARIF: Nalanda district education office has initiated the process to lodge FIRs against at least 1,400 teachers who have failed to submit the original certificates related to their educational qualifications.
“Mukhiyas of different panchayats, block education officers and even block development officers, who recommended their appointments may also face action,” said district programme officer (education) Arinjay Kumar on Thursday.
Arinjay said at least 1,400 teachers across 159 panchayats of total 249 panchayats in Nalanda failed to submit their educational certificates, on the basis of which they sought jobs, despite repeated reminders. He said the certificates are required by the state vigilance department for verification as directed by the Patna high court.
The education officer said, “In the final reminder issued on Thursday, all block education officers concerned have been directed to submit folders of erring teachers within a week, failing which their degrees will be deemed fake. The officials have also been directed to lodge FIRs against them.”
