Bihar makes strides in power generation, consumption: Nitish Kumar

SITAMARHI: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday laid the foundation stone of 400 KV power grid station at Parmanandpur village under Dumra block in Sitamarhi on Thursday. The grid will have a transformer of 1400MVA capacity.
The power grid station, spread over an area of 36 acres, will help to provide uninterrupted power supply to Sitamarhi, Sheohar, East Champaran, West Champaran, Madhubani and Darbhanga districts.
In Sitamarhi district, sub-stations at Runnisaidpur, Simra and Sursand will be benefitted.
“I do not do politics or work only to win elections. All good work gets rewarded. Take the case of electrification in Bihar. Aaaj Bijli har jagah uplabdh hai (Electricity is now available everywhere),” the CM said. The CM also asked people to be vigilant against those disrupting social harmony. He also advised the youths to be alert against fake social media messages.
Speaking on the occasion, Union power minister for state (independent charge) Raj Kumar Singh said the benefits of the project could be felt after a couple of years. He lauded the role and capabilities of the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.
Prominent among others who were present and spoke at the inaugural function included ministers Nand Kishore Yadav and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, MP Ram Kumar Sharma, MLAs Ranju Geeta and Sunil Kumar, former minister and MLC Devesh Chandra Thakur, DM Ranjeet Kumar Singh, SP Sujit Kumar and DDC Prabhat Kumar.
The chief minister also inaugurated by remote the newly-constructed women ITI building at Sitamarhi which had been constructed at an estimated cost of 9.75 lakh. He also inaugurated the Dumra-based Janki indoor stadium through remote.
