Nicole Kidman landed in Hollywood almost 30 years ago, but she hasn't really stopped.

The Aussie actress has had a full-blown career resurgence in recent years, however, has delivered an incredible recent body of work.

Whether she has been delivering Oscar-nominated performances in the likes of Lion or winning every award going for her fraught turn as a domestic abuse victim in the HBO drama series Big Little Lies, there is no denying that Kidman still has got it.

In 2019, the Oscar-winner shows no signs of slowing down in her new career renaissance - a "Kidmanaissance", if you will.

From January 25 we will see her in the gritty crime drama Destroyer - looking unrecognisable as a troubled LAPD detective - and then in February she plays a complicated mother dealing with her son having gay conversion therapy in the emotional true story of Boy Erased.

Could more award glory await?

Regardless, we thought we would take a look at some of her most recent hits, which just encapsulates what a legend she is.

Lion (2016)

In this extraordinary true story of a boy torn apart form his family, Kidman is the pure maternal warmth to protect him.

Young Saroo, however, is intent on finding his biological family no matter what, and Kidman as his adoptive mother will do all she can to support him.

Lion is perfect feel-good drama and Kidman’s winning supporting performance earned her an Oscar nomination in 2016.

Big Little Lies (2017-)

Kidman reigned supreme in television for her turn as the seemingly perfect housewife and mother Celeste Wright in the acclaimed HBO series.

The raw handling of domestic abuse won the actress many more fans and won her Golden Globe and Emmy awards for her performance.

Everyone loved her, her cast mates and the show so much that it will return for a sequel series this year.

Top of the Lake: China Girl (2017)

Kidman joined the crime drama series in its sequel season as the silver-haired feminist adoptive mother of Detective Robin Griffin's (Elisabeth Moss) daughter.

The two mothers clashed over how best to raise the teen, as she becomes embroiled in a tangled web of human trafficking and murder.

Nicole was a sure highlight of this atmospheric drama series.

The Beguiled (2017)

Teaming up with acclaimed director Sofia Coppola , Kidman delivered Southern Gothic camp in spades as the headmistress of a repressed and isolated girls' boarding school whose fragile existence is interrupted by the arrival of a handsome Irish soldier ( Colin Farrel l) in the Civil War.

Tending to him, Kidman reveals her character's buried resentment, desire, and ability to commit violence.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)

Yorgos Lanthimos may be having huge success right now with The Favourite, but his previous film The Killing of a Sacred Deer is absolutely hypnotic.

Taking an uneasy comic and disturbing tone, the film centres on a surgeon ( Colin Farrell ) who befriends the troubled son of a former patient, which sparks a chain of unsettling events that puts his family, including wife Anna (Kidman) in danger.

The film shows that Kidman can adapt to any directorial style.

Aquaman (2018)

Who can forget Nicole's foray into the superhero world?

Billion dollar hit Aquaman featured Kidman as the hero's mother, Queen Atlanna, which allowed Nicole to enjoy being both ethereal and also kick some butt.

We hope she comes back for the sequels!

Boy Erased (2019)

Based on a true story, Boy Erased tells the story of a Baptist family grappling with their son (Lucas Hedges) admitting he’s gay.

Kidman plays the righteous and obeying wife of a preacher ( Russell Crowe ), who convinces her that her son needs gay conversion therapy with the Christian church.

Kidman digs deep into her character, showing the conflict of a good person trying to honour her faith, husband and son, and how maternal instinct always wins through.

Destroyer (2019)

This crime noir stars Kidman as the alcoholic LAPD detective, Erin Bell, who is living with a mission gone wrong 17 years down the line.

Career obsessions and personal demons mean that Bell is a shadow of her former self and has completely abandoned care for her daugher.

Kidman utterly transformed herself into this tormented cop; donning dirtied and sun-damaged skin, a matted dark wig, and deep permanent eyebags - showing the hallmarks of a deeply broken woman.

Kidman’s haunting performance scored multiple nominations, including at the Golden Globes.

Destroyer is released on January 25, followed by Boy Erased on February 8.
