NEW DELHI: A gang of burglars broke into a jewellery shop in Rohini and fled with gold and diamond worth Rs 5-6 crore. Initial probe revealed that the crooks cut open a concrete parapet between the shutters and entered the shop on Friday.
The incident was reported when the other shopkeepers spotted the broken portion of the shutters and informed the owner.
The CCTV cameras in the shop were not working.
Probe revealed that the burglars used a crowbar to scrape off the concrete and then break a portion of the shutter, through which they entered. Police sources said that gold bars, coins and diamond jewellery worth a few crores were kept at the store room of the shop, which was emptied by the burglars.
