Here comes the Age of Aquarius — the 2019 version, at least — ushered in with a side of supermoon to amplify the importance of philanthropy and humanitarianism. Aquarius is known as the Water Bearer, the Greek water boy to the gods. The gift of water is the gift of life itself. The full moon suggests that the gift of love is in the same category.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You’re probably not in the mood to operate in a big group, and you definitely need your alone time. Still, sharing a meal with someone you love will be a precious opportunity to connect today, not to be missed.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Stay keen. You have to be looking for the opportunity to see it. But because you are, you’ll get the chance to slide right into the position you’ve had your eye on.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You give a high-quality grade of attention to others. You’re engaged. You ask fantastic questions. You’re warm and accepting. In short, you’re a soft place for others to land their ideas. Don’t you deserve the same from others?

CANCER (June 22-July 22). A big change isn’t necessary. What you want is your life, only happier. And if you can describe that, even just to yourself, you’ll be on the road to making it happen.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Your realizations are rapid-fire. You’ll process so much in your sleep that when you awaken tomorrow, you’ll be quite changed. In other words, wherever the sunset leaves you, the sunrise won’t find you there.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). How are you going to make yourself happy? Get on that. The rest of the problems seem more pressing than they really are. You wouldn’t want to be accused of taking things too seriously, would you?

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Questions aren’t always innocent. They can be invasive, prying and downright hostile. Thankfully, the ones you field today will be merely annoying — and easily defused with vague answers. Keep private things private.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). It’s impossible to be present in the current moment at the same time you’re running mental movies of the past on the projector of your mind. Pause that tape, and step out of the theater. It’s a brand-new day.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You’ll have to play parent to yourself today in that “eat your vegetables, no devices until the homework is done” sort of way. Otherwise, unhealthy distractions will keep you from all you need to accomplish by sundown.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Remember that thing that stressed you out a little while back? You’ve finally made it to the day when you call that a “learning experience” or “funny story.” Congratulate yourself for making it to the other side!

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). It feels as if you’ve been collecting clues for a very long time, and now you’re starting to see how they might fit together. Play with them as you would any puzzle piece, turning them to see how they fit.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). It’s weird how you can feel a person out there, far away, thinking of you. You don’t know what the thoughts are exactly, but you really can feel the general emotion of it, as though you’re totally connected.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Jan. 20). You’ve the secret to perpetual youth. You simultaneously live in the year and the moment, your finger on the pulse of the generation and the heartbeat of the second hand. Because of this, you’ll be promoted at work and considered very cool by your friends, and you’ll make savvy investments, too. Libra and Gemini adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 43, 3, 39 and 10.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: It’s the first week of the philanthropic Aquarius sun, and it comes with a side of supermoon this time, too. Enjoy the push to do something grand for the world. To be loving, generous, cheerful, optimistic, friendly and ethical to all — these are the achievements that will favorably alter the world. Of course, charity gifts are not a bad way to go, either.

There’s a broad misconception that one person’s success comes at the expense of another, but this is small thinking and only one way of running the game. It doesn’t have to be that way.

Furthermore, comparison, though often terrible and possibly evil, is a completely human thing to do. Young people compare toys and grades. Older people compare partners, jobs, homes, attractiveness, health; it’s endless. If you can’t stop doing it completely, at least you can do it holistically, recognizing the many ways in which people excel. It doesn’t hurt to have a sense of humor and humility, either. These are the lessons implied by the Jupiter astral action of the week.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Aquarius actor Rainn Wilson played megalomaniac Dwight Schrute on “The Office,” though in real life he follows closely the humanitarian ideals of his sign, as exemplified by the company he co-founded, SoulPancake — a mind-expanding, feel-good, artistic place in cyberspace. Wilson was born when the sun, Venus and Mars were in Aquarius.
