LUCKNOW: The chargesheet submitted to the state government after inquiry in thrashing of Lucknow-based realtor has found the jail superintendent of Deoria responsible for the incident. Action would be initiated against the jail superintendent DK Pandey after getting approval from the government.
The other jail officials against whom the inquiry was initiated include jailor Mukesh Katiyar, deputy jailor Deo Narayan Pandey, head warden Munna Pandey and warden Rakesh Sharma.
All the jail officials named have already been suspended after a case was lodged by Lucknow-based realtor Mohit Jaiswal.
Jaiswal, in an FIR to the Krishnanagar police station on December 30, had named jailed gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad, his son Umar and seven others of abducting and thrashing him inside the Deoria jail premises.
Later, an inquiry was conducted by DM Deoria, Amit Kishore, which found tampering of the CCTV cameras installed outside the Deoria jail premises. After this, deputy jailor, head warden and warden were suspended while a department action was initiated against the jail superintendent and jailor of Deoria.
