Social Development Center (NAMA) inaugurated 4th edition of the Entrepreneurship Business Conference and Products 2019 yesterday under the patronage of Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari at DECC.

This forum targets the small and micro-enterprises projects, enables them to access the local market to conduct business in a natural competitive environment, attempts to strengthen their presence and impact on the national economy, emphasises the role of their strategic partners in supporting and codifying them and provide them with an ecosystem.

This event contributes as well in spreading the culture of entrepreneurship among those who are interested internationally and locally. It also includes a conference with the participation of local and international speakers to highlight future pilot solutions.

Inaugurating the ‘Entrepreneurship and Business Conference & Products’, Sultan bin Rashid Al Khater, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said: “We believe in supporting development projects in Qatar as these social business initiatives play a vital role in supporting the Qatari youth by providing them with a platform to launch their projects. This contributes to the development of the Qatari society and optimize the concept of local production in the Qatari market.”

“Such events also promotes entrepreneurship initiatives which are one of the main channels leading to the development of human capital and therefore the Qatar’s economy, one of the pillars of realising the Qatar National Vision 2030,” he added.

During her welcome speech, Amal Bint Abdul Latif Al Mannai, Acting Executive Director of NAMA Center said : “The first edition of the exhibition was initiated back in the year 2000 and was honored by Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The second edition showcased participation of 82 pilot projects, and witnessed the launch of the first incubator for pilot projects in Qatar.”

“Through these exhibitions, we aim to build the knowledge and financial capacities of the small and micro entrepreneurs by providing them with the technical, financial, promotional and incubation support.”
