Tayside Police have confirmed that emergency service phone lines have gone down in parts of Perthshire.
Calls to emergency services have been affected due to "equipment issues" according to BT sources.
A spokesperson on behalf of Tayside Police said: "Staff at British Telecom have notified us of problems affecting 999 services in the Aberfeldy and Glenlyon areas of Perthshire.
"They are currently working to restore service to everyone as soon as possible.
"We are asking people not to make any non-urgent calls for the time being so that all the available phone lines can be used for emergencies."
