In many creative industries, experience is everything, and the contacts you create when you first start out can be the ones that help you go far later down the line. But as Find Your Intern preach, gaining that experience doesn't have to mean working for free.

The website was set up by Jasmine MacPhee while she was studying Fashion Promotion at Ravensbourne University in London, and pulls together paid-only positions in the fashion industry. In turn, it shuns any brands hoping to hire work experience placements without paying them, and reminds creatives of the worth of their labour.

FYI's brand ethos reads:

Find Your Intern is a platform that advertises PAID-ONLY internships. We have created something unlike the rest: a platform that is current, immersive and one that only advertises PAID INTERNSHIPS. If you think you can come here with your "expenses only" you are so very WRONG!
FYI only accepts positions that are National Minimum Wage and above. This is a platform where our community comes for prime guidance, to feel safe and to feel WORTHY.

The idea stemmed from frustrations about how hard it was to find paid internships, and filter out those that don't offer a fee in return for your hard work. Because while gaining experience is important, knowing your worth is essential.

Find Your Intern will only list vacancies that offer the National Minimum Wage (£7.83 for people over 25) or above, and currently features jobs including a Design Assistant at Arcadia, Fashion Design Placement at H&M, and a PR intern at Hugo Boss.
