Ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) tries to present recent assassination of Gdansk mayor Pawel Adamowicz as an act of an insane person, as suggested by recent leaks as well as official statements from prosecutor's office, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna wrote.
PiS is clearly concerned it may lose the dominant position in "martyrdom politics" it has secured after the Smolensk plane crash that killed President Lech Kaczynski, his wife Maria and 94 other persons on April 10, 2010.
PiS is concerned that Adamowicz's death will give its opponents an opportunity to form an alternative myth, the daily wrote.
