Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and Thackeray in cinema halls today

Here comes another Friday and Bollywood has a couple of films for the entertainment thirsty audience. On this Friday, i.e. January 25, 2019, two movies are all set to hit the screens- Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and Thackeray. While both the films are based on the lines of a biopic, one on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai and other on political leader Balasaheb Thackeray, the films take into two very different time periods on Indian history. Kangana Ranaut as Rani Laxmi Bai tells the story of freedom struggle and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Balasaheb Thackeray chronicles the life and times of the charismatic leader. Let’s have a look at what these two films have to offer.

Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi

Starring Kangana Ranaut, Ankita Lokhande and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Manikarnika: the Queen Of Jhansi is a period drama that chronicles the life of the bravest woman in our history, Rani Laxmibai. Kangana Ranaut plays the role of Jhansi Ki Rani and has impressed the masses with the trailer of the film. On the other hand, television star Ankita Lokhande is all set to mark her debut with the film as she plays Jhal Kari Bai who was the major supporter of Rani Laxmi Bai in the war from the British.

Ever since the announcement of the film, Manikarnika was surrounded by a pool of controversies from actors like Sonu Sood leaving the film to the script credits and threats from the Karni Sena. However, the makers overcome everything, and the film has hit the screens today. Directed by Krish as well as Kangana Ranaut herself, Manikaranika is ready to take the audience to the era of 1857.

Thackeray

Thackeray chronicles the life and experiences of the powerful leader Balasaheb Thackeray as he transformed into an influential political leader from a fireband journalist. Balasaheb Thackeray played an important role in shaping the Marathi identity and the film depicts the story of birth and evolution of the Shiv Sena.

Directed by Abhijit Panse, the film stars talented actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Balasaheb Thackeray. It also features Amrita Rao and Sudhir Mishra in important roles.
