Doha to host scientific panel on food-water-energy nexus in April

Doha: Doha will host 3rd meeting of the global scientific panel on food-water-energy nexus on April 10 and 11, 2019. The event shall be preceded by the organisation of a scientific seminar to review innovative global experiments in the fields of food-water-energy nexus on April 9. 

International scientists, experts and specialists as well as specialised global centres in the fields of food-water-energy nexus shall participate in the Seminar. They include the Austrian Institute of Technology AIT, Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) from the Federal Republic of Germany,University of the West of England (UWE) from Bristol, the United Kingdom, Bristol Water Company PLCfrom west London, ROC Connect from the United States of America and other specialized organizationsfrom Europe and the United States of America. 

 The decision to organise the seminar in Doha is the outcome of executing the articles of the second meeting agenda approved by Qatar National Research Fund which supervises global scientific researches, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) at Hamad Bin KhalifaUniversity. 

The move aims at exchanging information and expertise so as to support Qatar 2030 Vision, the National Development Strategy 2018 - 2022, and realise the sustainable strategy of food, water and energy resources in Qatar.
