MP: Teacher rams car onto primary students, held

Seoni (Mp): As many as eight primary students were reported injured on Saturday after the teacher driving the car lost control over his car while they were having mid-day meals in MP’s Seoni district police said.

The incident was reported from the district’s Bandol area where the teacher in Jurtara government primary school hit the accelerator instead of applying brakes an official said, TOI reports.

“Teacher Krishna Kumar pressed the accelerator of his new car instead of the brake. The car first hit utensils kept there and then rammed into two students. The other six students were injured from falling utensils and the hot food inside,” Bandol police station in charge Dilip Pancheshwar said.

Treating the students, Seoni district hospital civil surgeon Dr Vinod Naokar said three students, who have had sustained serious injuries were referred to hospitals in Jabalpur and Nagpur in neighbouring Maharashtra will the remaining five students are currently being treated at the district hospital.

The teacher identified as Krishna Kumar had been arrested.
