RALEIGH, N.C. — KFC is testing out its new Cheetos Sandwich at three locations near the Triangle, the company announced Tuesday.

The sandwich features a hand-breaded extra crispy chicken filet topped with special Cheetos sauce, mayo and a layer of Cheetos served on a toasted bun.

"KFC took its signature Crispy Colonel Sandwich, introduced in April of last year, and completely Cheeto-fied it for an extra crunch and a double punch of flavor," the company said via a press release.

The closest KFC locations offering the sandwich are:

  • 601 E. Dixie Drive, Asheboro
  • 123 N. Van Buren Road, Eden
  • 2180 Durham Road, Roxboro

Some stores in the Greensboro market is also offering the sandwich. The sandwich is also available in Roanoke and Richmond, Virginia and Greenville, Georgia markets.

KFC isn't the only fast food restaurant to feature a Cheetos dish. In 2016 and 2017, Burger King offered Mac n' Cheetos - fried macaroni and cheese bites covered in Cheeto dust.
In 2017 and 2018, Cheetos hosted pop-up restaurants in Los Angeles. The menus were filled with Cheetos-centric dishes.
