Soon, trial run for EMU trains on Mumbai-Nashik line

MUMBAI: Trial run for the Mumbai to Nashik services with EMU (Electrical Multiple Unit) train are expected to begin soon as Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is likely to dispatch a special rake soon from Chennai.
The Research, Standards and Designs Organisation (RDSO) had opined that services can be operated to Nashik provided several steps are taken to prevent accidents in the ghat section,.It had asked for automatic door closure system with proper ventilation and more braking power than the ones used in the suburban section at present
A CR official said, "We have been told that the rake will soon be dispatched to Mumbai. If the braking power is as per the RDSO recommended standards, we will soon carry out the trials."
