BIHARSHARIF: Police have so far not been able to arrest those involved in killing a 16-year-old girl, whose body was recovered from an abandoned house on the outskirts of Dadpur Vishambar Bigha village under the Noorsarai police station area in the district on Wednesday. The body had strangulation marks around the victim’s neck.
The girl, a Class IX student, had mysteriously disappeared from her home on Tuesday night. The victim’s father, Ravindra Prasad, said the girl had gone outside the house to relieve herself after midnight.
“When she did not return home for a long time, we started looking for her. Some children of the village found her body in the abandoned house on Wednesday. She was probably strangled to death by the miscreants,” he added.
A relative of the girl said the girl’s alleged boyfriend had recently gifted a cellphone to her. One of the girl’s uncles said she was probably raped and killed by her lover.
SHO of Noorsarai police station Abhay Kumar said the case was being probed from all angles. “We are hopeful of arresting the killers soon,” he added.
Police had on December 20 arrested one Sanjeet Paswan alias Bothan Paswan from Kakadia village under the same police station area on charges of killing his minor daughter to protect honour of his family as she loved a village boy, who did not match their status. Police had also arrested the elder son-in-law of Sanjeet Paswan for helping his father-in-law in executing the crime.
