Amravati to soon have replica of the famous hill shrine TTD
TIRUPATI: A traditional ceremony was held Thursday in Amaravati, capital city of Andhra Pradesh, for the proposed Rs 150 crore Lord Venkateswara temple, a 'replica' of the famous hill shrine of the deity at nearby Tirumala.
Ahead of the foundation laying for the construction, "Bhukarshanam" (ploughing of the earth) was conducted with religious fervour by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which administers the cash-rich ancient Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu participated in Bhookarshanam and Beejaavapanam ceremony which took place in the auspicious Meena Lagnam between 9.15am to 9.40am in the village of Venkatapalem on Thursday.
Addressing gathering at the venue Naidu said that Amaravati region will become sacred with Venkateswara Swamy temple and it will become a major religious center here.
The intention of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams is to spread Venkateswara Bhakti cult across the country, he said.
Temples have already come into existence in Kurukshetra, Kanya Kumari and are in offing at Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and also coming up in agency areas like Sitampeta, Parvathipuram, Rampachodavaram, and other locations.
"I feel blessed for having performed Bhoomipooja for the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravathi and for taking part in Bhookarshanam for Sri Venkateswara temple today", he maintained.

Complimenting the services of Srivari Sevakulu, the CM said, the volunteers are doing impeccable services at different places in Tirumala like in managing queue lines at Vaikuntham Complex, outside lines inside the temple, at Anna Prasadam complex, laddu counters, Parakamani and at different places in Tirumala and Tirupati.
So far 6.33 lakh Srivari Sevakulu from Andhra Pradesh have rendered service in Srivari Seva since 2000. The Sevakulu should take forward the Hindu Sanatana Dharma ahead in future by taking part in dharmic services. A twin building for Srivari Sevakulu at Rs.100crores was also constructed by TTD.
Deputy CM unhappy with TTD
“Managing endowments department had become a big issue for me and I wish to leave responcibilities of that department,” said Deputy CM and Revenue, endowments minister K E Krishnamurthy. In a chit chat with media persons at secreteriat on Thursday Krishnamurthy said that he is unhappy with the behavior of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) autorities.
“We have some constratints in dealing TTD and they behave in their own way. Endowments officials never cared for the higher authorities and files like constitution of trust board for Srisailam Devastanams was pending with CM for months with apathy of endowments authorities.
