Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir has once again had to issue clarification on the issue of restro-bars and pubs running with his name in parts of west Delhi.

Gambhir issued the clarification on Twitter confirming that he has got nothing to do with the restro-bars, restaurants and pubs which are using his name to run their establishments.

"Hi friends, there have been restro-bars, restaurants and pubs spring up in my name in central and west Delhi. I wish to clarify that I have nothing to do with them directly, indirectly or in parts. In fact I have no such establishment in my name anywhere in the world," Gambhir wrote on Twitter.

The Delhi batsman had faced the same problem two years ago when a restro-bar in Delhi's Punjabi Bagh had his name in the tagline.

Gambhir had taken the owner of the outlet, named 'Ghungroo by Gautam Gambhir', to court after the owners used his name without the cricketer's consent. Interestingly, the name of the owner of the pubs was also Gautam Gambhir, who was also issued notice for March 20.

Gambhir filed a case in the High Court stating that he discovered in November 2016 that the owner was running the restaurants with the tag line 'by Gautam Gambhir' while the cricketer had absolutely no connection with the said restaurants.

The restro-bar chain later contended before the single judge that the tagline 'by Gautam Gambhir' was used in connection with the pubs as it was also the owner's name.

The cricketer had contended in his plea that the use of his name made the restaurant-cum-pubs appear to be "deceivingly associated or owned" by him and would therefore, cause "irreparable loss and undue hardship" to him.

His first plea was rejected by a single judge bench but the issue came up once again before a division bench last year which also issued notices to DAP and Co which runs the two pubs -- Ghungroo and Hawalat -- in Punjabi Bagh area of west Delhi.
