BENGALURU: Three people were killed and one injured critically when a car they were travelling in rammed a road median at Raste Palya, near Kudur, Ramanagara, on Tuesday morning.
The car was returning to Bengaluru from Dharamasthala when the accident took place around 7.15am, said police.
Kudur police said Jagadish, 55, and Jai Shankar, 45, both carpenters, and driver Suresh, 24, died on the spot.
Laxman Yadav, 30, has been admitted in Nelamangala government hospital with severe injuries. All of them are residents of Sultan Palya, near RT Nagar, and natives of Uttar Pradesh.
Police suspect that driver Suresh might have dozed off at the wheel and lost control of the vehicle before hitting the median. Jagadish was sitting in the front and Shankar and Laxman were in the back seat.
“We have registered a case and handed over bodies to their family members after postmortem,” said Kudur police.
