Popular Telugu TV actress Jhansi, who is known for her performance in serial Pavithra Bandham, committed suicide at her Sri Sai Apartment in Srinagar Colony, Hyderabad, on Tuesday.
Her neighbours informed the police after they found her body hanging from the ceiling. The police rushed to the spot and shifted her body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. They have already started investigating the case and gathered some information.
Jhansi, who hailed from Krishna district, was in love with a youngster named Surya aka Nani. She wanted to marry him, but his parents were against their relationship. Following this, Surya reportedly declined to tie the knot and had been staying away from her for some time. This led her to depression and she took the extreme step, according to her parents.
Surya is reportedly hiding since the news of Jhansi's suicide made it to headlines. The police are planning to trace him and question him over the issue.
