Indigo may start operations from Nashik in first week of April
Indigo airline has won the bid to operate on Nashik-Bangalore, Nashik-Bhopal and Nashik-Hindan routes.
NASHIK: A private airline Indigo is likely to start its air service from Nashik under second phase of Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) from the first week of April.
The airline has won the bid to operate on Nashik-Bangalore, Nashik-Bhopal and Nashik-Hindan routes under the second phase of RCS.
A team of airline officials recently visited Nashik (Ozar) airport to check the facilities available at the airport to start operations.
The airport is managed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL).
The airline has also informed the HAL that it will start air services from Nashik from the first week of April this year.
“A team of officials from Indigo recently visited the airport to check the facilities. We have provided all the technical details and fulfilled whatever the compliance they had," said the sources from HAL.
"The airline officials have informed us that they will start the services from Nashik from the first week of April," said the sources.
The private airline Jet Airways and Alliance Air have already started operations under RCS from Nashik. While Jet Airways has connected Nashik with Delhi, Alliance Air has connected Nashik with Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
Another private airline TruJet has also announced to start Nashik-Hyderabad flight from February 13. The airline has already started bookings for the flight scheduled from Feb 13.
