A Mannford resident with history of sex crimes toward minors was arrested on charges of failure to register as a sex offender and offender living within 2,000 feet of a school. Dirk Stires, also known as Dirk Suckley, was arraigned at the Washington County Courthouse on Thursday on two felony charges.

Court documents allege that Stires registered his address in Creek County but had moved near the end of January. Police were told that Stires may be living in a trailer behind a residence on Saddle Lane in Bartlesville. The residence is less than 800 feet from Ranch Heights Elementary School.

Police made contact with Stires and informed him he could not stay at the residence. Stires stated he thought the residence was beyond 2,000 feet from the school.

In court the State of Oklahoma cited twenty previous incidents of inappropriate conduct with minors. Stires’ bond was set at $20,000. Stires is due back in court on March 1.
