NEW DELHI: The Environment Pollution (Prevention & Control) Authority (
EPCA) chairman, Bhure Lal, on Thursday asked the authorities concerned to remove garbage and construction debris from the
Shahdara drain in east Delhi.
"The Shahdara drain section in Patparganj has a horrible stench and is strewn with all kinds of garbage. There is no water flowing there. I have asked the department concerned to remove the debris and the huge mountain of plastic waste," Lal told TOI.
Lal asked the authorities to clean Bridge nahar, a drain in Sahibabad, and "remove all the stinking debris". The EPCA chief, who was visiting the pollution hotspots - Anand Vihar and Kaushambi - however, expressed happiness over the work done by different agencies at these places.
