Face recognition tool helps trace missing Ujjain teen to Bengaluru
Salman was traced to a children’s home in Bengaluru
BENGALURU: A 14-year-old specially-abled boy, who went missing from his house in Madhya Pradesh eight months ago, has been traced to a children's home on Hosur Road here, thanks to a face recognition tool developed by Telangana police and hosted on a Union government portal.
According to Karnataka police sources, Salman Shaik, a resident of Chimanganj Mandi in Ujjain of MP, left his house in June last year, following which a missing complaint was filed in jurisdictional Chimanganj Mandi police station.

The MP police collected the photographs of the boy and shared it on the Union government's dashboard for Analytical Review of Projects Across Nation (Darpan) portal, where data from various departments from across the country are consolidate and made available on one centralised, easy-to-access platform.
