Bihar: Three more held for gangrape in Kishanganj

PATNA: Police on Friday arrested three more accused for allegedly gang-raping a 20-year-old girl after immobilising her father by tying his limbs at Patthar Ghatti village under Korobari police station area at around 2am on February 5.
Earlier on Thursday, police had arrested one Mohammad Kasim (32), who is one of the six named accused in the gang-rape FIR lodged on basis of victim’s statement. The total count of arrested person in the case had gone upto four.
Kishanganj SDPO Akhilesh Kumar said that the medical report clearly mentions that the victim was raped.
Kumar said the persons arrested on Friday were identified as Abdul Mannan (27), Kalua (28) and Ansar Alam (33).
“Faiz Alam (30) and Takhseer Alam (30) all resident of different villages under Korobari police station area were still evading arrest,” he said.
The girl was sleeping inside her hut while her father was sleeping outside on a cot when all six persons on three separate bikes, reached there and demanded water to drink. He went inside to fetch water for them when the accused persons spotted the girl, barged inside and dragged her to dense vegetation far from the hut and took turn to rape her. The accused had overpowered the girl's father and kept him tried until they fled from spot after committing the crime.
The girl along with her family had turned up before police on February 6 after which an FIR was lodged against six persons.
“The arrested accused persons have confessed to have gang raped the girl. All the arrested persons blamed Faiz for instigating them for committing the crime,” he said.
Meanwhile, the SDPO said that the borders of the districts were sealed after the incident had come to light, the police were also in contact with their counterparts in West Bengal to arrest the two accused including Faiz who had criminal antecedents too.
Kishanganj civil surgeon Prashuram Prasad said that victim had received injuries on her private parts and was released from hospital on Thursday after treatment.
