Bhagalpur cops to prepare dossier of top ten criminals

BHAGALPUR: Bhagalpur SSP Ashish Bharti has asked SHOs of different police stations to prepare a dossier of top ten criminals under their respective jurisdictions and submit the list besides initiating steps to arrest the criminals, including the absconders, immediately.
“Action will be taken against the SHOs if they fail to submit the names of top ten criminals,” the SSP said, adding he will personally monitor the progress made in curbing crime in the town.
The SSP has also asked the SHOs to send the names of hardened criminals for invoking Crime Control Act (CCA) against them.
According to police sources, the district police have also decided to get the bail of the criminals cancelled if they indulge in criminal activities while out on bail.
The SSP, who held a meeting with the SHOs and SDPOs to review law and order recently, said, “The SHOs have been asked to ensure effective policing, prevention and timely detection of crime. We are also taking help from the cyber cell for initiating action against absconding criminals. The SHOs have been asked to work as a team to curb crime, the SSP added.”
