Wife of Somalian President visits health facilities

Sainab Abdi Moallim, wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, accompanied by Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari visited yesterday a number of health facilities in the country.

Moallim visited Qatar Rehabilitation Institute (QRI), Women’s Wellness and Research Center, Al Wajbah Health Center and Sidra Medicine.

During the tour, the Somali President’s wife was briefed on the health services provided, the latest methods of treatment and the modern medical techniques provided to serve the patients.

Moallim who is currently visiting the country, also discussed with the Minister of Public Health on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the health sector.

Meanwhile, the Orphan Care Center “Dreama” welcomed Sainab Abdi Moallim. The Somali Ambassador to Qatar, Abdulraziq Fareh Ali; Aidaros Mahmoud Othman, secretary of the President’s wife; Nour Direih Harsi, member of the charity association of the President’s wife and Nasra Wahliya Malin, personal assistant of the President’s wife, attended the visit.

At the headquarters of the center, she was welcomed by Amal bint Abdullatif Al Mannai, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Foundation for Social Work;  Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Executive Director of the Orphan Care Center, a number of leaders and officials of Dreama, and Dr Aisha Al Mannai, member of Shura Council, where she learned about the types of services being offered to the targeted categories and listened to the awareness presentation made by Mariam Al Misnad on the vision and mission of Dreama Center as a pioneering center in providing care for the orphans and integrating them into the society, and the Center’s efforts to maintain a safe and stable environment for the targeted categories, reduce the number of cases in the Homeless House to the possible minimal number, in addition to building and developing the institutional capabilities.

Moallim also got to know about the Center’s plans in respect of the methods of care and services being offered to the orphans by maintaining alternative fostering families, ensuring their stability in such families, training the fostering families on how to inform the fostered children of their conditions, ensuring their stability, raising their awareness on the importance of fostering and providing the psychological support and guidance for the fostering families and the children, legal, social, educational and medical services.

Moallim expressed her appreciation for the management of the Dreama Center for the warm welcome and sufficient information on the vital role Dreama undertakes in providing high quality services for its children in Qatar and its efforts to empower and integrate them into the community, in addition to promoting the professional and personal skills of its children in line with the international standards in preparation for integrating them into the society and empowering them in all fields.

She also expressed her expectations to establish strong collaboration relationship with the Center in the near future and offer programs for the Dreama children in collaboration with a number of charity institutions which she established.

For her part, Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad expressed her appreciation for the visit, saying: “The Center is playing a key role in providing familial fostering and continuous observation for the orphan children.”

At the end of the visit, Dreama’ Executive Director negotiated means of joint collaboration during the upcoming period in the interest of the children of Dreama.
