Growing up, Alex Nguyen always played sports.After he graduated from high school, he joined the U.S. Marines. Just before coming back from his third tour of duty, he was seriously injured by a roadside bomb.Nguyen ended up losing his right leg below the knee."When I first got hurt, I didn’t know what sports to play," he said.Then he found wheelchair basketball."I happened to go with one of my buddies to watch it, and after I’d seen how physical it got... I was just like, 'Oh man, maybe I want to give this a try,'" he said.He now plays for the wheelchair basketball team at the University of Nebraska Omaha, where he's earning a psychology degree.Watch the video above to learn more about Alex's story.
