Rewa FC Interim Coach Nigel Khan Quits After Nadi Hiding

This has put Nadi into second spot on the standing with six points from two wins behind leaders’ Ba (7). The Delta Tigers are in the bottom spot with three points from four outings this season.

Rewa interim coach Nigel Khan has quit after the 6-1 drubbing by Nadi in the Vodafone Premier League match yesterday.

“You have seen how bad the senior boys played today,” Khan said at Prince Charles Park.

“This kind of performance is pathetic.

“Senior boys have no heart and if they perform this way then they won’t find their name in the team.

“It is heartbreaking and this is my last game. Rewa has to choose either the coach or the players.”

National and Nadi striker Rusiate Matererega scored four goals in the win.

This has put Nadi into second spot on the standing with six points from two wins behind leaders’ Ba (7).

WHAT HAPPENED
The home side took the lead with Matererega opening the flood- gates in the 2nd minute.
Two minutes later midfielder Christopher Kumar extended the lead 2-0.
In the 6th minute defender Ame Votonui scored for the team to take the lead 3-0. Matererega added another through a penalty at the stroke of halftime.

Halftime: Nadi 4- 0 Rewa.
Nadi upped the momentum in the second half with Matererega scoring in the 51st and 90th min- ute

STAR TURN
Matererega played a complete game.

BIG PLAY
Defender Rupeni Rabici stood his ground.

COMMENTS
Nadi coach Pranesh Amarsee said: “The scoreline tells it all. This is a young side and we have faith in them.”
