The company said in a statement that the Snapdragon X55 5G modem chip was a 7-manometer single-chip integrated multimode device that would also provide up to 2.5Gbps download speeds on LTE.
The 5G New Radio modem will support all major frequency bands, no matter if they are mmWave or sub-6 Ghz and also supports TDD and FDD modes of operation. It can be deployed on standalone or non-standalone networks.

The new modem chip is expected to be available for sale in late 2019.
