Polls: 48 police inspectors transferred in Marathwada

AURANGABAD: A day after the office of the director general of police granted powers to the range inspectors general of police and city commissioner of police to carry out transfers of officers of the rank of inspectors, 48 inspectors, including 20 from Aurangabad range, have been transferred ahead of the general elections.
The Marathwada region consists of Aurangabad range (comprising Aurangabad rural, Jalna, Beed and Osmanabad), Nanded range (comprising Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli and Latur), and the commissionerate of Aurangabad city.
Each of these ranges and Aurangabad city are headed by an officer of the rank of special IGP.
Four inspectors from Aurangabad rural, five from Jalna, seven from Beed, four from Osmanabad, five from Nanded, six each from Latur and Parbhani and one from Hingoli have been transferred within the range.
In Aurangabad city, Kranti Chowk inspector has been transferred to MIDC Waluj police station, Vedantnagar inspector Anil Adhe has been transferred to Satara, traffic branch inspector Manoj Pagare to cantonment police station, control room inspector Uttam Mudak to Kranti Chowk, cantonment traffic branch inspector Mukund Deshmukh to Harsul, control room inspector Ashok Giri to Mukundwadi, Cidco traffic branch inspector Hanumant Girme to Jawaharnagar, Cyber police station inspector Sandeep Gurme to Waluj, security branch inspector Rameshwar Rodge to Vedantnagar, Satara police station inspector Premsagar Chandramore to police control room, Waluj station inspector Satish Tak to the bomb detection and disposal squad, Cidco police inspector Nirmala Pardeshi to Cidco traffic branch, Mukundwadi inspector Natha Jadhav to Waluh traffic branch and Jawahar Nagar inspector Sharad Ingle has been transferred to cantonment traffic branch.
Three assistant commissioners from the city have also been transferred. Cantonment ACP Dnyanoba Mundhe has been transferred as ACP traffic, city division ACP Govardhan Kolekar has been transferred as ACP special branch, while ACP traffic Hanumantrao Bhapkar has been transferred as ACP city division with additional charge of cantonment division.
14 assistant inspector have also been transferred, including officers who were given new postings a few months ago. Commissioner of police Chiranjeev Prasad said the decision about the postings and internal transfers of officers from the rank of ACP to API has been taken in accordance to the election commission guidelines.
