More rounds of sometimes heavy rain are in the forecast for Alabama today, and there could be a few more storms as well.

The National Weather Service said an additional 2-4 inches of rain will be possible across parts of north and central Alabama through this weekend, and flood watches continue for those areas as well.
Some of those watches could be extended into the weekend, forecasters said Wednesday morning.
The heaviest rain is expected from today through Friday, the weather service said. And the highest totals will again be in north and parts of central Alabama, although south Alabama could get rain as well.
Flooding has already been reported in some areas, the weather service said, and more rainfall could exacerbate those issues.
Forecasters said "confidence remains high for a prolonged river flood threat" on area rivers.
Much of the area got a break from rain overnight, which the weather service said has helped to alleviate some of the minor flooding, but more rain will move in to the state this morning.
There could be several rounds of rain through Saturday.
There could also be more storms today.
NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has placed part of the state under a marginal risk of severe storms today, which means isolated severe storms will be possible.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has gone a bit further and placed nearly all of central Alabama under a marginal risk.
Forecasters said areas in south and west Alabama also run the risk of seeing an isolated tornado.
The weather service is also looking ahead to another chance for severe weather on Saturday that could affect more of the state.
