Winter weather advisories are posted for the entire state as a quick-moving wintry system moves through tonight.
Snow will develop Wednesday evening, moving in from the southwest toward the northeast.
Precipitation will fall as snow through about 1 to 2 a.m. throughout the state, possibly mixing with a touch of sleet late evening in southern parts of the state.
After that, the snow will change to a mix of sleet and freezing rain from the Monadnock Region to points east and north to Concord and over to the coast. Elsewhere, snow will continue before tapering some by morning.
All of the precipitation should wind down during the morning commute Thursday.
Roads will likely be slippery late Wednesday evening through the Thursday morning commute before conditions rapidly improve late morning and afternoon.
About 2 to 3 inches of snow, with isolated 4-inch amounts not out of the question is expected south of Concord before the precipitation changes over to a wintry mix. About 3 to 6 inches of snow is likely elsewhere.
Temperatures will warm into the 40s Thursday afternoon, with seasonable days on Friday and Saturday.
The next storm moves in late Saturday night and Sunday. Precipitation will likely fall as wintry mix and rain south and snow and a mix farther north, though it’s too early to nail down the exact track just yet. Stay tuned to the Storm Watch 9 team for updates.
