Looks like the Rocket Man was partial to a little rocket fuel before blasting out his hits, at least according to a new biopic.
Surprisingly, Elton John has given his backing to the warts ’n’ all project, which stars Welsh actor Taron Egerton , 29, as the music legend.
Rocketman takes in the high and lows of the star’s career, from his US breakthrough to his mega-grossing world tours and meltdowns.
Due in UK cinemas on May 24 it’s being billed as an “uncensored human story”.
It comes just weeks after claims that Sir Elton John’s late mother never met his children due to a family rift, according to his old manager John Reid.
The singer, 71, and Sheila Farebrother fell out after she told of refusing to cut ties with pals Bob Halley and Reid, who Sir Elton had fired from his entourage.
The pair are said to have reconciled for her 90th birthday, but Reid said Sheila still did not see her grandchildren.
Sir Elton has sons Zachary, eight, and Elijah, six, with husband David Furnish.
Reid told Nina Myskow on her podcast Too Late to Die Young: “The children were a big surprise to me. I wish him nothing but the best. The sad thing was his mother never met them.”
Reid knew Sheila for almost 50 years, remaining in touch even after her falling-out with Sir Elton in 2008.
