Begusarai girl gang-raped, pics go viral on social media

BEGUSARAI: A 14-year-old girl was gang-raped by three of her co-villagers when she was going to relieve herself on a field in Begusarai district on February 11.
The photographs of the crime, taken by three others, went viral on social media on Friday — 12 days after the sexual assault took place at Samsa village under Mansoorchak police station in the district.
According to an FIR lodged by the survivor on Friday, six youths of the village held her forcefully and tied a cloth on her mouth when she was going to field to relieve herself.
The victim told police that three youths raped her on the field, while the other three photographed the incident. After committing the crime, the youths threatened her of making the photographs of the incident viral on social media, if she reported the matter to the family or police.
Fearing ignominy and embarrassment, the girl kept mum. But on February 19, one of the accused again made an attempt to rape the girl. This made the survivor break down and narrate her ordeal to her family.
Mansoorchak police station SHO Arvind Kumar said the survivor accused six persons of the village for their involvement in the crime. “While three persons are accused of raping her, three others are accused of taking photographs of the incident," he said, adding the photographs on the social media also reached him.
“Raids are being conducted to nab the six accused persons in the crime,” the SHO said.
