Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to launch various projects in Nalanda

BIHARSHARIF: Chief minister Nitish Kumar, who is expected to be in Nalanda on a two- day visit from February 27, is likely to lay foundation stones and inaugurate various projects.
On the first day of his visit, the CM is expected to lay the foundation stone of a dental college at Rahui block and inaugurate the state’s first multi-purpose solar powered facility recently constructed at Ugawan village under Asthawa block.

The Nalanda unit is the first of three units to built by private firm OMC Power Pvt Ltd, which will generate 40 KW of solar energy. The energy will be used in running a cold storage, charging e-rikshaws, purifying upto 2,000 litres of water a day. Besides, the electricity produced here will power a pathological centre and illuminate households.
“Two such units— one each in Purnia and Bhojpur— will also be set up by the company,” said an OMC executive Anuj Tiwary.
Nalanda DM Yogendra Kumar Singh and other district officials also inspected the solar units on Thursday. “The CM is also expected to inaugurate the newly- built western bypass and lay foundation stone of the eastern bypass at Hilsa, besides laying the foundation stone for a high-tech building of block-cum- circle office at Katrisarai during his stay here,” said a senior JD(U) functionary.
The chief minister is also expected to lay the foundation stone of a building project at Nanand village. “Nitish Ji will also speak to his party leaders and workers regarding mobilization of supporters and sympathisers for the NDA Sankalp rally at Gandhi Maidan on March 3,” said a senior party leader Bipin Yadav.
