Matt Riddle has fired a warning to Brock Lesnar that the days of his WWE career are numbered.

The 'King of Bros' has set his sights on making a beeline for the the current Universal Champion, since Lesnar's victory at the WWE Crown Jewel event in November.

After Lesnar's win over Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia, Riddle tweeted that his foe was "right where I need you" and vowed to retire the former MMA star.

However Riddle has revealed his plans to end Lesnar's career go much further back.

Speaking to NXT via Give Me Sport , Riddle said: "Retiring Brock, that’s no secret. That’s been the goal since I started wrestling since the very beginning.

"I like to set goals that seem impossible. Only one person can retire Brock Lesnar, only one person can end his career and that person is going to be me."

Despite only making his WWE debut in 2018 after several years on the independent circuit, Riddle has enjoyed a fast start to life in the franchise.

The 33-year-old made headlines at NXT TakeOver: War Games II, when he sensationally beat Kassius Ohno in six seconds.

Now Riddle wants to achieve his goal of ending the career of Lesnar - who made his WWE debut back in 2000.

Riddle added: "I don’t like how he does it, I don’t like the respect that he shows, and I don't like the work rate that he puts out. That’s just my personal opinion.

"I think he’s capable of more. Maybe it doesn’t work out for him, maybe it doesn’t work out the first time, but I guarantee you, I’m going to beat him, and I’m going to retire him.”
