Tyra Jamerson has always had a love for reggae music. Born and raised in California, she has been affiliated with several reggae and dancehall shows, including last year's Busy Signal and Friends in Concert in Connecticut.

"I have been in love with the culture for years, and I enjoy travelling to Jamaica. Promotion was something I found myself doing a lot in life, so I decided to make it a business," she said.

On April 19, Jamerson will stage Reggae Xplosion. The event takes place at the Mateel Community Centre in Redway, California.

The event will feature performances from gold-selling, Billboard-charting singer Gyptian, roots singer I-Wayne, and rising dancehall artiste Frassman Brilliant.

"We wanted to bring a mixture of different reggae flavours - different styles, such as Rasta roots reggae and dancehall from Jamaica - to bring somewhat of an explosion of flavours in the music. There will also be a Reggae Xplosion compilation that we will be marketing with this event," she said.
