A police constable in Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad carried a critically injured man on his shoulder to save his life. He ran 1.5 km down railway tracks on Saturday morning to get him to a hospital for treatment. The victim, Thane resident Ajeet Suraj, had fallen from a train and there was no way an ambulance could have reached the spot. So, constable Punam Billore took matters in his own hands. A viral video shows him carrying the bleeding Ajeet on his shoulders in a 'fireman's lift', and running as a train roars down parallel tracks. DGP V K Singh lauded the constable's tenacity and presence of mind. "Thanks for bringing this to notice. SP Hoshangabad @Hoshangabadp, look into the same and reward/recognise this brave policeman adequately," he tweeted.
