Varanasi: Inmates of two BHU hostels clash on campus
Four inmates suffered injuries in the clash after which they were rushed to trauma centre of BHU.
VARANASI: Inmates of Birla A and C hostels clashed following some dispute during on-going varsity annual cultural fest Spandan on Banaras Hindu University campus under Lanka police station on Sunday late evening.
The university campus became tense when both groups indulged in brick batting and allegedly hurling petrol bombs on each other after putting off lights of both hostels.
SP City Dinesh Kumar Singh said that students of two hostels had clashed on campus but situation was brought under control now.
He said that police force was still deployed on campus to avoid recurrence of any untoward incident.
Four Inmates suffered injuries in the clash after which they were rushed to trauma centre of BHU.
Initially varsity proctorial board personnel tried to pacify situation but later district administration and police were alerted. On getting information an additional city magistrate along with heavy police force reached hostel Road and cordoned it.
