VARANASI: The
menace of copying continues in
Ballia district despite strict measures taken by the state government to check unfair means during the UP Board of High School and Intermediate Education exams.
On Thursday, the joint director education recovered a solved copy of
biology paper of High School
exam from a centre in Bhimpura area of Ballia district centre. After registering a case, the Bhimpura police arrested the centre manager and an assistant teacher.
UP Board’s joint education director and nodal officer for Ballia district Ramsharan Singh said that acting on a tip-off, he along with SO Bhimpura raided BRR Inter College in Aurai Khurd area.
On checking assistant teacher Sanjay Singh’s motorcycle, the officials recovered solved answer sheet of biology exam. The code on the answer sheet was of another centre. During initial investigation it surfaced that the answer sheet was brought to the college to attach it with answer sheet of a student.
Taking a serious note of the incident, the board officials registered a complaint with the Bhimpura police against the centre manager Prem Chand Rao and Sanjay Singh.
SO Bhimpura Satyendra Rai confirmed that an FIR under section 4/7/8/10 of UP Public Examination (Prevention of unfair means) Act and 419, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of IPC. Later, both accused were arrested.
Earlier, on February 26, the special task force of the state police had nabbed 10 persons including the Paranpur Inter College’s principal, two teachers and seven solvers with large number of answer sheets from Khajuri area.
