Release N Sagar waters to two lakh acres in Khammam, CM tells

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar today directed Chief Secretary SK Joshi to take immediate steps to release waters from Left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar to save the crops in two lakh acres in Khammam District. Following a representation from Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeriah, the Chief Minister took this decision.

Earlier, the Sattupalli MLA called on the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday and he informed about the water requirement to save the standing crops in Sattupally, Khammam, Paleru, Wyra and Madhira constituencies. Two lakh acres of lands are under cultivation and required waters immediately to save the crop. Immediately, KCR asked the officials concerned to release water from Nagarjuna Sagar Left canal and save the crops.
