BENGALURU: A man from Shahapur in Yadgir, North Karnataka, has been apprehended on charges of posting hate messages on home minister MB Patil's Facebook wall. He had been detained on Friday and then arrested after he confessed to the crime.
Basavaraj Ningappa is a college dropout who works at a mobile phone shop, police said. Ningappa said he hated Patil as North Karnataka had been neglected by politicians.
"He said he had high expectations of Patil thinking he would develop the region in a better way. But claiming that nothing had changed, he posted the messages through a fake Facebook account he created," cops said.
CID cops found the messages were posted from a mobile and using the Facebook account, Kishor.karijola .
