PATNA: The police on Sunday released the two suspects, who were earlier detained for interrogation for their alleged connection with terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, which owned responsible for the recent Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
While Mohammed Danish Parvej alias Naushad was taken into custody from Suryagarha in Lakhisarai district late on Saturday night, his cousin Mohammed Rehan was picked up from his native village Chutia Belari under the Shambhuganj police station area in Banka district.

Rehan’s mother Badru Nisha and wife Grocia Parween, who had also been detained for questioning, were released on Sunday. Banka SP Swapna Meshram said Rehan’s mother and wife were taken into custody from their house. “They were let off on Sunday for lack of evidence,” the SP said.
DIG (Bhagalpur range) Vikas Vaibhav said the two were released on personal bond after thorough interrogation by the different intelligence agencies and the Banka police. “So far the police don’t have any evidence to substantiate the allegations levelled against them,” he told this newspaper.
The DIG, however, admitted that Naushad had criminal antecedents. He was earlier arrested from Dumka in neighbouring Jharkhand in connection with a forgery case. He was enlarged on bail about two months ago. He had fled his native village during search on Saturday and reached Patna.
The police, later, spotted him near Suryagarha in Lakhisarai district late Saturday night. He was immediately taken to the Suryagarha police station from where he was escorted to Banka. Naushad was finally let off in Banka, a senior police officer said.

The Banka police swung into action and picked up Rehan after an email was sent to the DG of CRPF, who subsequently alerted other intelligence agencies. The Banka SP didn’t rule out personal enmity behind sending the email to the top CRPF officer to frame the two brothers. “This is subject to investigation,” she added.
Meanwhile, a police team has been sent to Jharkhand to gather details of the cases pending against Naushad.
