GUNTUR: Expressing serious apprehension about deletion of eligible voters on a mass scale, YSRCP leaders requested chief electoral officer (CEO) Gopalakrishna Dwivedi to take a fresh look into the issue.
A delegation of YSRCP leaders comprising Kasu Mahesh Reddy, Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu, MLA Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy met the CEO at the secretariat on Tuesday.

Explaining the issue of enrolment of bogus voters and deletion of their party sympathisers from the lists in Gurazala constituency, Kasu Mahesh Reddy said that local legislator Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao is exerting undue pressure on the officials.
He said that about 3,600 names were added and 3,500 names were deleted from the lists after the release of draft electoral lists in January.
He requested the CEO to instruct the electors registration officers (ERO) to furnish the fresh voters lists to all the registered political parties so that they could raise their objections on the new additions and deletions before it was sent to the district electoral officer (DEO) for final publication.
“It would be difficult for the DEO to look into the grievances after the publication of the list. We request you to instruct the EROs to handover the draft list in which they have made changes since January so that we can get a chance to go through it and raise objections if needed,” said Mahesh Reddy.

He alleged that process of deletion of voters is also being carried out without giving any information to the political parties.
YSRCP leaders urged the CEO to ask all EROs to be careful while deleting the votes from the lists and handover the draft lists to the political parties for scrutiny.
Lavu Srikrishnadevarayulu requested the CEO to exclusively review the electors lists preparation particularly in Narasaraopet constituency as TDP leaders were indulging in large-scale irregularities.
